Handicraft Cluster Development Programme under “”SFURTI” scheme (Govt. of India)

The project aims to equip traditional artisans of the associated clusters with the improved skills and capabilities and make common facilities and improved tools & equipment available to them for increased quality, better profitability and diversify their products.

As an Implementing Agency, our organization is run a Common Faculty Centre (CFC) by the support from MSME, GoI with 505 handicraft artisans. From active support from COHANDS, we have a two stores CFC building with all relevant machinery equipments regarding handicrafts and handloom. The project is designed in two parts, one is called hard intervention, and another is called soft intervention. Initially, the aforesaid project will be implemented by a minimum 3 years tenor.

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, a branch of the Government of India, is the apex executive body for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations, and laws relating to micro, small and medium enterprises in India.

Utkarsh Bangla Project, Govt. of W/B

The government of West Bengal is Committed to large-scale Skill development for its youth population to improve the scope of gainful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities under the WBSDM (West Bengal Skill Development Mission) chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal. To ensure that the above commitment is met successfully the Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development; Government of West Bengal has launched the “Utkarsh Bangla”, a flagship scheme on 16th February 2016 under the aegis of the PBSSD (Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development) for placement linked short-term skill training across the State of West Bengal. Applicants can register here for All Short-term Skill development training being offered by PBSSD (Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development), Government of West Bengal.

Here we have been imparting training on the above-said sectors in different courses under Utkarsha Bangla scheme. It is a free Training for students. The fund is allotted by PBSSD. Till date we have trained about 1500 students. We trained students and prepare them for their careers. After completing the course they sit for an assignment and after successfully completing the assessment we guide them for a placement. Many are placed in different Organizations. Some prepared themselves for self-employment. We also absorbed students into our own organizations and projects. We also give chance to the students to an internship in our Organizations and many after completing their internship and at the time of continuation, they got jobs. PBSSD arranged Job-fair and MWS also arranged job-fair and from there, many are placed in different well-known companies and Organizations. Many others have already got engagements in different institutions/companies the details which make the profile a lengthy one. 

SHG/Unemployed Youths Training, Deptt. Of SHG & SE, Govt. Of W/B

The West Bengal Rules of Business was amended to set up the Department of Self-help Groups & Self Employment (SHG&SE). It is responsible to formulate, implement and coordinate all works of self-help groups as well as improving self-employment opportunities for the unemployed youth. The vision of the department is to create an enabling environment for all self-help groups of the state as well as unemployed youth in search of self-employment to flourish with convergent support from all stakeholder departments and financial institutions. To aid its functioning, the Department utilizes the services of a Directorate (the Directorate of SHG & SE) and a Corporation (the West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Limited).

In this scheme, we develop the Skills of beneficiaries at Block Level for the last 6 years. The Training is free of cost for the beneficiaries. After completion of the training, we guide the beneficiaries for SVSKP Loan by co-ordinating with the Block Supervisor and the corresponding Bank. There are some who after getting their loan started a new Business. Others are earning with their own Skills. Students are now on a good run.
